4. Fort Worth Stockyards 🐎

Have extra time? Look for the tour guides along Exchange Ave. They are full of knowledge and ready to share with you how the stockyards were came to be such an important part of Fort Worth’s history. TIP from a local: If you attend the zoo on a Friday, in the spring, you may notice a lot more kids. That’s because it is field trip season. Once you get through the main entrance the crowds tend lesson as groups The zoo does clear up in the early afternoon when the schools leave. If you have younger kids or want to beat the heat the afternoon might be a great time to visit. The zoo also allows bags, wagons, and strollers. They also let you bring outside food inside in case you want to pack a lunch. Once inside you’ll see multiple snack and lunch options if you would like to purchase food there and most areas do have picnic tables.
Spring Break will be the most crowded time to go to the zoo. Be prepared to park in the overflow grass parking near the entrance off of University Dr.

6. Visit the Fort Worth Water Gardens 💦 and Sundance Square
